Changes for version 4.06 (Jan 24, 2000)

QSOs

Added a number of QSO modes.

Changed length to four characters for the mode display.

Added option to change the mode for a group of QSOs.

Changed search for modes when double-clicking an entry in a report.

Up/Down arrow in QSLDate field will start with todays date when empty.

Made logic to save or ignore last QSO added more consistent.

Packet / Spotting

Added facility for data interchange with other 'packet' applications (Appendix E)

Added option to view warning messages in DX spotting window. Closing the message window will no longer delete the messages.

Added an option to show the callsign of the current spot in the DX4WIN icon on the Windows taskbar.

The format of the dx4win.put file has changed because of the additional modes.

In addition to the DXCC award status, the DX spots can be colored reflecting the WAZ and WPX award status.

Colors for DX spots take the enabled bands and modes for an award into account in addition to the bands and modes enabled in the station preferences.

Added the possibility to specify CQ-zone numbers to filter incoming spots in addition to the prefix for a spotter.

Import/Export

A zero value for an RST will no longer be converted to a default RST during import and mark the QSO as invalid for an award.

Added another DX4WIN import/export filter to support the additional modes.

Added partial import filter for DxBase2000.

Correction in N6TR import for RST fields.

Correction in OH1AA import for RST fields.

Fixed ARRL region mapping to state in ADIF import.

Fixed 'third note field' import problem.

Time for first imported QSO was off when it was 00:00

Added Import/Export functions for IOTA database

External data

Added more data for display for Buckmaster CDROM (County, Grid, QSL mgr)

Added QSL manager records for RAC CDROM (Version 9 and later of the DLL)

Dropped support for pre-95 Buckmaster

Changed internal logic to execute GOLIST.EXE or similar QSLmgr lookup programs.

Added indication which database returns QSL info.

Added an option to specify a directory for the files of an address database when a CDROM is copied to a hard disk.

Country database

Thanks to Jim, AD1C, we have an expanded and updated IOTA database.

Added Import/Export functions for IOTA database

Added a few more callsign exceptions.

Radios

Reorganized the way radio parameters are stored (separate files in the 'radios' directory)

Added support for additional modes for the radios (AM, FM, RTTY and PACK)

New modes are available when adding QSOs, using the scanner and setting the frequency.

Added option to ignore the mode obtained from the radio while adding in real-time.

Added option to raise PTT line followed by a short delay before sending CW.

Added support for Yaesu FT847 (Thanks Bob, N5NJ, for the testing)

Awards

Additional awards added for custom defined awards (many contributors).

Added a file with deleted prefixes for WPX (thanks CT4NH). See the Appendix Files for file contents.

Added the WPX awards to the list of awards that can be submitted automatically when confirming a QSO with the F2 key.

Other

Added slightly more white space when printing labels.

Changed the initial 'Open' and 'Save as' directories to the 'save' directory.

UTC time is now obtained from Windows directly. (UTC offset is no longer used)
